FIDM Productions' Digital Media Center

FIDM Productions’ Digital Media Center, located at the Los Angeles campus, is a state-of-the-art post-production facility. The services and technology found inside its doors rival those of established post-production facilities found throughout Southern California. The Center simultaneously houses edit bays, machine rooms, an insert stage, digital media classrooms, conference rooms, and FIDM Productions’ administrative offices.

Even more impressive than the Digital Media Center itself are the services provided there. A resolution and format independent post environment, acoustically designed for superior sound monitoring, the Digital Media Center utilizes a facility-wide fibre-optic superhighway to network the departments.  The Center provides online finishing services for every kind of project, with every known and emerging format, including DV, DVCPRO 50, and HDCAM.

The Digital Media Center takes advantage of both the Macintosh and PC platforms with cutting-edge software tools which include Final Cut Pro, Avid, Pro Tools, Maya, After Effects, Shake, Logic, Illustrator, Photoshop, and many others.

“Among other things, Digital Media Students get to work on footage from hit television shows and blockbuster movies,” explains Program Director Gene Lebrock. “One of the most exciting aspects of the program is utilizing the studio to work on these types of real world projects.”
