Lee Young Joo
International FIDM Star

When Lee Young Joo moved to Los Angeles in 1989 to study Fashion Design at FIDM, she could not have imagined the exciting and successful career that was in her near future. She completed her Associate of Arts degree with honors and FIDM proudly accepted her into the 3rd year Advanced Study Program.

The sophisticated collection she designed for Debut '91 [FIDM's annual fashion show], earned her the prestigious Rick Pallack Award.

She earned the award based on her exquisite combinations of colors, textures and fabrics, a quality that still distinguishes her collections today.

With the accolades and training she received at FIDM, Young Joo returned to Korea to start a new life. After taking 3 years off to marry her fiance and start a family, Young Joo aggressively pursued her career.

Armed with her enthusiasm and elegant collections, she was able to open several Lee Young Joo boutiques in prominent Korean department stores.

The boutiques, stocked entirely with her own designs, became extremely popular with Korea's social elite. Her impressive client list grew to include politicians, celebrities and especially fashion-conscious business women.

In addition to her boutiques in department stores, Young Joo now owns and operates three independent stores which feature her sophisticated fashions. She plans to continue growing her business but is committed to keeping her line exclusive.

Lee Young Joo's long-term goal is to be recognized as Korea's leading fashion designer. With all her talent and ambition we are confident she will achieve her goal.

All fashions shown are from Lee Young Joo's Collections.
