Here Come the Brides

Bridal-Wear Designer Panel

Some girls begin dreaming of their wedding gown long before they’re old enough to drive. Three FIDM grads are making long-cherished dreams a reality with their stunning couture wedding dresses. These very successful designers were on-hand to speak to current students at a FIDM panel, “The Bridal Biz.” They shared their experiences within the industry, from landing their first job to how to calm a nervous bride. The event was presented by the FIDM Alumni Association.

Patricia Nevil, co-owner of L’ezu Atelier, designs exquisite gowns which can be viewed at her salon in Beverly Hills. A new salon is opening in Newport Beach, California in January.

Justina McCaffrey, of Justina McCaffrey Haute Couture, flew in from Quebec, Canada to speak on the panel. She’s designed gowns for a prime minister’s daughter, a U.S. Ambassador’s daughter, and Kate Hudson in director Robert Altman’s film, Dr. T and The Women.

Lynne Carter, of Lynne Carter Bride, is opening her first boutique in Irvine, California next month. For more information on FIDM’s Fashion Design program, visit our Majors page.
