FIDM Alumni Struts His Stuff at Los Angeles Fashion Week

From November 2 - 6, Los Angeles presented Fashion Week, a series of runway shows featuring Spring 2002 collections from top designers like Eduardo Lucero, Michelle Mason, Cornell Collins, Tree, and FIDM alumni David Cardona. Celebrities, fashionistas, and industry folks had the chance to preview the upcoming trends and designs for next year.

Cardona’s couture collection was full of fitted black leathers, ground-sweeping coats, and tailored power suits. The dramatic show had models strutting down the catwalk with glossy black lips, shimmering skin, and spiked hair. Cardona’s full-length evening dresses had striking asymmetrical, one-shoulder, or cutout looks in black and red. His stark white strapless gown with a full-length train and black silk tailcoat were definite crowd favorites.

Avant-garde designer Cornell Collins and Beverly Klein have also attended FIDM. Current third-year FIDM Fashion Design students attended several shows during L.A.’s Fashion Week and were undoubtedly inspired by the success of their fellow FIDM students.
