FIDM’s annual “Chairing Styles” challenges FIDM Students to create a matching chair and fashion ensemble, both made from the same fabric.
Textile Design students first design the fabric, then Fashion Design students

create the outfit, and Interior Design students produce a coordinating chair. It’s a great way to explore the relationship between the three
disciplines: furniture, fabric design, and fashion. Participating students have the opportunity to visit textile and furniture factories and meet with execs.
