Seventeen graduates from the FIDM Textile Design program showcase their portfolios at the annual Textile Design Exhibit held in the FIDM Gallery from June 19,1998 through July 16, 1998.
The Exhibit features surface-print designs of original art as well as CAD (Computer Assisted Design) and structural design of fabric and clothing that has been woven or knitted.
This year Apparel Technologies, Inc. sponsored the production of a beautiful fabric banner for each student. The banners were created from original student designs using a totally new and advanced high resolution digital print reproduction process that is revolutionizing Textile Design as well as finished garments.
Peter J. Malecha was chosen by TALA (Textile Association of Los Angeles) as the Outstanding Textile Design Student, 1998. Internships from Apparel Technologies Inc. were awarded to Paula J. Gostomski and Kathleen Brigid Keegan.
