Michael Estorga

Born and raised in East Los Angeles, California, Michael Joseph Estorga was inspired by his mother, a commercial patternmaker. He began by making his own clothes, then branched out to making Halloween costumes and baking and decorating extraordinary birthday and wedding cakes. But at the time, he felt that “going to work” was a life necessity, not something that engendered happiness. After high school, he began working for the Los Angeles Superior Court, becoming a supervisor. A co-worker there spurred him on to attend FIDM, where he realized that he could have a career doing what he loves. As he now says, “I am only limited by that which I cannot imagine.”
