Jenny Pyle

“I have to look at celebrity gossip blogs all the time,” Jenny Pyle admits. While most of us would consider keeping this guilty pleasure to ourselves, for someone like Pyle it’s just another day at the office. As Vice President of J’aime Productions Inc., one of the many tasks on her ever-growing to-do list is to scour the internet for photos of Hollywood’s hottest celebs wearing pieces from the women’s contemporary label, which was started by actress Jaime Pressly five years ago.

Pyle’s responsibilities also include meeting with sewers and sample makers; visiting factories, retailers, showrooms and suppliers; and planning production of J’aime fashion shows during L.A. Fashion Week. “I basically run Jaime’s company, everything from production to fashion shows,” she says. “I oversee it all.”

How did FIDM help prepare you for the workforce?

[I learned] Time management! FIDM gives you a lot of work in a short amount of time, so you have to figure out how to manage it. You learn how to work in a fast-paced environment and pick things up quickly.

How long have you worked for J'aime Productions Inc.?

It's been five years. I learned about the opening through the FIDM Career Center. They were really involved after graduation.

Why Visual Communications?

I love fashion. It's been that way for me since I was a kid--It's just something I've always been into. I really wanted to do styling and art direction so I did a lot of research to find the best program. Of all the schools I researched FIDM's Visual Communications program was the best.

Do you have any advice for new FIDM Graduates?

Work hard and you'll go places!
