A Motivating Environment

An Instructor's Perspective

As in the traditional classroom, the eLearning environment is still about motivation and interaction. FIDM's instructors know that motivation is what is going to bring students to class and get them to embrace the subject matter. In the classroom, instructors can create enthusiasm for the subject matter by developing creative, stimulating lesson plans.

Although the eLearning program does not currently provide audio capabilities, the conversational writing styles of the instructors and the required postings of comments from the students to the discussion board create environments where students can be engaged in the learning process, feel free to write their sincerest opinions, and provide feedback to other students' comments as well. A level of comfort and encouragement is established by the instructor in eLearning, just as it is in the classroom. And it is amazing how students can be so much more candid when posting their opinions as opposed to stating them in front of others in class!
