My friends and I can't decide if two different colors of denim can go together. For example, does a dark denim jacket go with light denim jeans? We don't know if it looks cute or stupid. Help us!

Dear Kimberly,

Mixing very dark denim and very light denim together is a fashion no-no. If the denim colors are close, they can look pretty good together, but if they're really different, I don't think they harmonize well at all. Yes, dark denim can look OK paired with medium denim, but what makes the best combination is two fairly similar denim shades worn together, whether light, medium or dark. Have fun doing denim!
