I was hoping to go to FIDM right after high school, but some people have told me that I have to go to a regular college first to take all the basics. Is this true?

It is definitely not true that you have to go to a"regular"college before going to FIDM in order to take the basics. In addition to being a specialized school, FIDM also includes all the basics, so that when you leave here you're totally ready to start your career in the fashion, interiors, entertainment, or graphics industries. You have your education, and you're ready to go! At FIDM, while fulfilling your requirements in history, math and English, you're also preparing to start your dream career right after your two-year program, while other people are still stuck in college for two more years! And most people do come to FIDM right out of high school.
